It seems backwards, doesn’t it? To allow someone more grace?
...Wouldn’t a teacher extend more grace to his students at the beginning of the school year than the end? Wouldn’t less be expected at the beginning of the school year than near the end? The students have a whole year to learn something after all… I imagine a teacher, head in hands, staring at another of Johnny’s papers that they will once again have to mark with a big red D. Somehow I picture less grace there...
God expects perfection, but not from me. Jesus accomplished that for me. Why then, when I mess up, do I feel like I’ve already had my share of grace?
“If the grace I’ve received wasn't enough, then just forget it. I’m obviously a lost cause – a charity case who eternally needs grace.”
Hmm. Maybe that’s why Peter prays that God will give us more grace… because we are ‘charity cases’ who eternally need grace. I'm starting to remind me of the Galatian church...
Time to return to freedom in Christ.
Time to return to grace and peace!
“How foolish can you be? After starting your Christian lives in the Spirit,
why are you now trying to become perfect by your own human effort?
Have you experienced so much for nothing? Surely it was not in vain, was it?”
Galatians 3:3,4
“I ask you again, does God give you the Holy Spirit and
work miracles among you because you obey the law? Of course not!
It is because you believe in the message you heard about Christ.”
Galatians 3:5
“But now we have been released from the law, for we died to it and are
no longer captive to its power. Now we can serve God, not in the old way of obeying
the letter of the law, but in the new way of living in the Spirit.”
Romans 7:6
Thank you Jesus, that you are enough. Thank you God, that your grace is sufficient for me and that I may expect more and more of it even as I grow to know you more. Thank you for freedom! Oh, I praise and thank you for showing me the new way to live –in freedom – in the Spirit. Please help me to never forget that I am released – help me to never return to the ‘old way’ of living. Please continue to pour out your grace and peace on me. Let it overflow! Amen.

Hi Kim,
I marvel at the grace God bestows upon me; it is beyond description.
My finite mind comprehends absolutes but I cannot fathom the infinity of God's grace.
This post serves as a reminder of the awesome grace God allows us to be a partaker in. God invests Himself in me; through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, I am vested in His kingdom.
I cannot wrap my thoughts around that truth and yet, I acknowledge as Paul said, "...that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus."
Christ is really enough!

Thank you Kim for popping onto my blog. I have been to Canada twice and loved it. This is a good word. I read today on my show Madre Minutes Phil 4:8-9. These things we should meditate on are then up to us to put into practice......crucial and important for us not to miss that point.

Jup as Galatians 3.5 says God loves you because YOU love Him NOT because of what you do or dont know, he loves you regardless
